Our cheeky We're Not Counting this Year Birthday Card acknowledges that this particular trip around the sun has been less than spectacular. Whether it was due to the covid-19 lockdowns or some other shitstorm piled on top of that. Let’s just go with it. (Does that mean we can subtract a year off our age too??)
- Front of card: “We’re not counting this year"
- Design features a round birthday cake with pink frosting, rosette piping, ideally situated on a complimentary yellow plate, on a teal background, with the message in red script icing.
- Inside of card: Blank with plenty of room to make future plans with a different type of Corona.
- Made in the USA!
So, this card got us thinking about why birthday cakes are round. Turns out it goes way back to ancient Greece! They were originally designed as such to honor Artemis, the goddess of the moon. Going even further with that theme, the lit candles on the cake were meant to resemble the glow of the moon. Once a wish was made, the candles were blown out, and the smoke carried it upward to the Gods that lived in the sky. How cool is that!?
Created and assembled in Brooklyn, New York, USA. Original artwork by Ohio native Lisa Mohar. Card measures 4.25 inches wide x 5.5 inches tall. Made of 12 pt satin cardstock with an uncoated inside for the ideal writing canvas. Forgettabout it with our We're Not Counting this Year Birthday Card. A sentiment we can all agree on!
